Sean Bean stars in these feature length movies set during the Napoleonic wars of 19th century Spain. Fast-moving, hard-hitting action adventures based on Bernard Cornwell’s best-selling novels bring to the screen all the danger and romance of one of the bloodiest periods of warfare.

Used to watch this with my dad when I was a kid and now I'm 28 I still love it. Would like to see Sharpe's Challenge and Peril added to the collection though!
  • Fantastic but buy SD

    By AnythingSomethingWhatever
Brilliant show but don't waste your money on HD, the quality is exactly the same as SD because it was made so long ago. I bought one episode in HD and the rest in SD, can't tell the difference between them.

For those of you who have not had the pleasure of watching any of the Sharpe episodes, or more so - read the books - I shall give you a brief synopsis of the story. Richard Sharpe saves Wellingtons life, and is made a lieutenant. Instantly disliked for not being a 'proper officer', his new command, take every opportunity to ruin him. Instead, throughout a series of confilcts, they realise he may not be rich/a gentleman, but he knows how to fight and how to command. Throughout the war, he gains promotion after promotion, and by the time Napolean is defeated at Waterloo, Sharpe is a Colonel. in Lord Wellingtons army. A must watch for anybody who likes historical fiction, and the books are even better! I have watched these since I was a little boy, and continue to watch them now!
