Description

An amazing new perspective on the landscapes and creatures of Africa's wildest places. This is the world’s wildest continent as you’ve never seen it before – an intense sensory adventure from the Atlas Mountains, through the Savannah lands to the Cape of Good Hope and from the Roof of Africa and the Kalahari to where the dark rainforests of the Congo meet the Atlantic Ocean. Each episode shifting the focus onto a different region as it contrasts the epic power of the landscape with the dramatic struggles of individual creatures living there. From hidden jungles and ice-blue glaciers to erupting volcanoes and lakes of poison, Africa explores an astonishing array of previously un-filmed locations and discovers bizarre new creatures and behaviours – including some of the rarest fish in the world, exploding insects and lizards that hunt on the backs of lions. This landmark five-part series utilises the latest filming technology to reveal the surprising environments, extraordinary creatures and other fascinating secrets of an amazing continent.

Absolutely fantastic gift. I’m amazed that so many people are reviewing this at one star because they couldn’t work out that only one episode was a gift. There are clearly some very unnecessarily angry people on here, rating it one star due to their own stupidity.

I confess my rating is based solely on watching Episode 1, Kalahari—iTunes Christmas freebie. I have just sprung for the additional £8.99 for the remaining episodes. Rather gobsmacked by the number of people who didn’t understand that the freebie was not the entire series. It’s a shame because their foolish 1* ratings will unfairly drag down the overall rating.

David Attenborough has always been a hero of mine, and the way he conveys the things we are watching on screen is wonderfully exciting, fascinating and at times very, very moving. His voice is so soothing alongside the stunning imageries the viewer is witnessing, please purchase this if you can, at only £10 and in full 1080p it really is a bargain for something that I personally will treasure for all of my life.

Despite David Attenborough's excellent commentary, this series lacks inspiration. The music doesn't compare to the Blue Planet.

For all the numpties saying its a rip-off. It isn't because the gift is only for the first episode not the entire series. Use your brains and if you couldn't figure that out maybe technology isn't for you!

Beautiful, amazing footage, I loved it! And to everyone that complained yesterday- the first episode, kalahari, was what iTunes was giving out! So if you people had opened your eyes and actually realised you could have gotten a great gift. That's what happens when your ignorant.

12.99 for this is a bargain! The cinematography and the shots they get are amazing. The research and the time spent to get these shots is worth way more than 12.99. Much more than an episode of Big Brother!
