I expected so much more from this adaptation, especially as the dashing Michael Fassbender was playing Mr Rochester. Worth a look but just rental not worth paying for.

Good direction and beautifully acted. I can't give it 5* because i've seen tv adaptation of it a couple of years ago, although longer, it had more detail in it for my taste.

Beautifully shot, slightly rushed story line that leave syou wanting to see more build up and explanation. Very entertaining and btw actors great especially Fassbender although too good looking in the role. Wanted to see less running in the hills and more story though.

The entire film seemed rushed through the parts that should have had the most impact- the scenes between rochester and jane. Jamie Bell was awesome as always, Michael Fassbender's Rochester seemed unhinged and at time i found it very difficult to believe that a 19 year old girl would find him attractive. The cinematography was beautiful.

Such a powerful movie, full of emotion and feeling, beautifully shot! Actors are superb! You will not be disappointed with, in my opinion, the best adaptation of Jane eyre!

Leaves the viewer teary eyed and contemplative. Exceptionally well shot with outstanding portrayals from each actor... I couldn't have wished to spend my evening watching a better film than this. Outstanding!

I had just read the book for the first time and loved it. Saw there was a film and hoped it would be a really good watch, but I guess I had too high expectations and it was rather dull at times, ok for a rainy Sunday afternoon if nothing else catches eye...
  • Not the best adaption…But still good

Good but not great as another reviewer said. Maybe if the filmmaker had not cut out so much of the story it would've been better. Worth a look.

Mia really played Jane Eyre so well, just as it described in the book. Mr Rochester is meant to be ugly but I love Michael Fassbender in this, I think he played Rochester very well!! Having read the book, you do tend to picture some scenes differently and I was quite disappointed that not all scenes from the boook were included in the film but they adapted it beautifully! The dialoge was verbatim with the book and it's just lovely. My favourite adaptation of the book by far!!!
