  • A moving story paternal love

Schwarzenegger has never been so emotional as he is in this tragic take on the zombie genre. Here there are no big guns, no bigger explosions, and no iconic one-liners. What you get instead is a carefully told (and excellently acted), well paced, emotionally charged tale of a fathers love in the wake of a zombie outbreak. We're not talking apocalypse proportions. This is a more realistic approach where the change is slow and predictable and the un-affected are living in close proximity until the end. It had my wife in floods of tears (a good indication of its excellent narrative) and it was good to see Arnie taking on a role that wasn't all about flexing his ageing muscles and was more about stretching his acting ones. Great film.

I was sceptical to watch this but I'm so glad that I did. Arnie's role was superb, the protective father desperate to take care if his infected daughter. And Maggies struggle to hold on to her humanity. Definitely worth a watch.

Slow,Predictable and we nearly turned it off. The only positive is Arnie showed he can act in a different genre

His having left behind the alter ego is refreshing as his acting.
  • Sad Story

This film was a sad story. It didn't seem to get going, and is more of a melancholic sad story rather than an exiting zombie apocalypse movie..
